Testing

Your ECU will be tested on one of our engine simulators in conjunction with code readers. This allows us to test your unit under pressure, replicating the multitude of conditions that would be encountered on the road. We monitor all the processes controlled by the ECU (ignition, fuel injection, idle valve, fuel pump relay, all outputs etc.).

If you suspect that a malfunctioning ECU is the root of a vehicles problems we provide a rapid test service. If a fault is indicated we offer a repair service that is second to none. Should no fault be found it allows you to concentrate upon alternative solutions.

Repair

All ECUs are coded to the vehicle as a means of improving security.
Replacing an ECU with a new one is expensive (frequently over £1000) and requires the unit to be coded to your vehicle. We offer the choice of having your original ECU repaired (avoiding the need for re-coding), having a refurbished unit recoded to match your original or replacement with an off the shelf refurbished uncoded unit. Please note that the use of an uncoded ECU might affect your vehicle’s insurance. All suspect components will be replaced.

Replacement

Fixem stocks a large range of refurbished petrol (Citroen, Peugeot, Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda, later Fords etc) and diesel ECUs which have been decoded so that they can be used to replace faulty units without the need to recode. These units will offer all the functions of the original except some of the security aspects. If you wish to maintain the security aspects it will be necessary to either repair your original unit or recode a replacement so that it matches your original.

Pump Controls

We are able to replace some faulty pump controls units (diesel). These units are marked Isuzu 1.72 EDU / electronic diesel unit (16267710).
